Bikaner, following Jaisalmer, is one of the major attractions of the North Indian desert. Here, you can experience a piece of the ambiance from the era when this city was a mandatory stop for the caravans of the Silk Route, which connected Central Asia with the sea ports of Gujarat. Unsurprisingly, Bikaner also boasts its own fort. Known as Junagarh Fort, it is one of the few in all of India that has never been conquered.
